What is a HEIC file?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the photo format iPhones and iPads use by default. It keeps photos about half the size of JPG at the same quality, but many Windows apps, websites and older devices can’t open it. Converting to JPG makes your photos work everywhere.
The converted images don’t carry over the original metadata, which means GPS location and camera details are removed. If you want to keep your original photos but strip that data, use Remove EXIF data instead.

Are my photos uploaded?
No. GrabKit processes your file with code that runs inside your own browser. The file is never sent to a server, so nobody (including us) can see it. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool keeps working.
Will I lose quality converting HEIC to JPG?
At the default quality of 92% the difference is invisible for normal viewing. Choose PNG if you need a completely lossless copy.
How many photos can I convert at once?
There’s no fixed limit. Large batches are processed one after another, so your device isn’t overloaded.
Can I stop my iPhone saving HEIC?
Yes. On iPhone go to Settings › Camera › Formats and choose “Most Compatible” to save new photos as JPG.
