What is EXIF data?
EXIF is information your camera or phone writes into every photo: the date and time, the camera model, the lens and settings, and often the exact GPS coordinates where it was taken. Editing apps add more, such as software names and edit history.
Many social networks strip this data when you upload, but plenty of places don’t, including email, file-sharing links, marketplaces, forums and messaging apps that send “original quality” files. Anyone who downloads the photo can read it.
Lossless cleaning
Most tools remove metadata by re-saving the whole image, which slightly lowers its quality every time. GrabKit instead cuts the metadata blocks out of JPG, PNG and WebP files directly, so the image data stays byte-for-byte identical. Other formats, like HEIC, are converted to a clean high-quality JPG.

Is it free to remove EXIF data?

Are my photos uploaded?
No. GrabKit processes your file with code that runs inside your own browser. The file is never sent to a server, so nobody (including us) can see it. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool keeps working.
Does removing EXIF reduce photo quality?
Not for JPG, PNG and WebP. GrabKit removes only the metadata and leaves the image data exactly as it was.
Will my photo still be the right way up?
Yes. By default GrabKit keeps the single orientation tag so photos still display correctly. Nothing else is kept.
How do I stop my phone adding location to photos?
On iPhone: Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › Camera › Never. On Android: open the Camera app settings and turn off location tags. The exact names vary by phone.
