Which size do I need?
35 × 45 mm is used by the UK, Schengen and other EU countries, India, Sri Lanka, Australia and many others. 2 × 2 inches (51 × 51 mm) is the size for US passports and visas. 33 × 48 mm is used for China visas and 50 × 70 mm for Canadian passports.
If your document needs a different size, enter a custom width and height in millimeters. You can drag and zoom the photo, using the guide lines, to get the head size just right.
Always check your country’s latest official photo rules before you print or submit. They also cover lighting, expression, glasses and exact head size, and they change from time to time. GrabKit helps you get the size and framing right, but it can’t guarantee that your photo will be accepted.
Tips for a good passport photo
Stand in front of a plain, light-colored wall, face the camera straight on, and keep a neutral expression with your mouth closed. Use soft, even light, such as daylight from a window in front of you, so there are no shadows on your face or on the wall behind you.
Changing the background works best when the original background is already plain. For printing, use the PDF print sheet, which prints at exact real size as long as your printer is set to 100% or “actual size” rather than “fit to page”.

Is my photo uploaded?
No. GrabKit processes your file with code that runs inside your own browser. The file is never sent to a server, so nobody (including us) can see it. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool keeps working.
Will my photo be accepted?
GrabKit sizes and frames the photo to the dimensions you choose, but acceptance depends on the official rules of the country or office you apply to, including lighting, expression, glasses and head size. Always check the latest official requirements before submitting. We can’t guarantee acceptance.
How do I print passport photos?
Download a print sheet for 4×6 inch (10×15 cm) photo paper or A4. The PDF prints at exact real size, so make sure your printer or photo shop prints it at 100% scale, then cut along the cut lines.
Can I change the background to white?
Yes. You can change it to white, light gray or light blue. It works best when the original background is plain, so take the photo against a clear wall.
