Exact cut vs fast cut
Exact cut re-encodes the clip so it starts and ends on exactly the frames you picked. It takes a little longer but is precise to the frame.
Fast cut copies the original video data without re-encoding, so quality is untouched and it finishes in a second or two. The catch: videos can only be cut cleanly at “keyframes”, so the start may move slightly earlier, usually by less than a couple of seconds.

Cutting the awkward start and end off a phone recording, pulling one highlight out of a long stream, shortening a clip to fit a social post, or preparing a section to turn into a GIF or compress for sharing.

Is the video trimmer free?

Is my video uploaded?
No. GrabKit processes your file with code that runs inside your own browser. The file is never sent to a server, so nobody (including us) can see it. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool keeps working.
Will trimming reduce the quality?
Fast cut keeps the original quality exactly. Exact cut re-encodes at a high quality setting, so any difference is very hard to see.
Why did my fast cut start a bit earlier than I set?
Fast cut can only start on a keyframe. Switch to Exact cut if you need the clip to begin on a specific frame.
Can I trim a video on my phone?
Yes. The timeline works with touch, in current mobile versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox.
